Program of our adventure
-
Your journey begins at Vienna Airport, where you’ll check in for your flight to Sri Lanka. You’ll board your plane and settle in for an overnight journey to Asia. Depending on the airline you choose, you’ll have one short transit — we recommend flying with Emirates for extra comfort or Air Arabia for a more budget-friendly option.
If you're departing from a different city or country, no worries — we’ll personally help coordinate your flight and arrival time so you can join the group smoothly. We’re here to advise you on the best flight options based on your preferences and budget.
Tonight, you’ll rest above the clouds — and wake up to a brand new world.
-
You’ll land at Bandaranaike International Airport in the morning — greeted by warmth, tropical air, and our smiling team :) We’ll be waiting for you with a fresh king coconut and tropical fruit, just as it's done in Sri Lanka. Your adventure officially begins!
We’ll head into the vibrant capital for a short city tour of Colombo, where colonial charm meets the lively rhythm of Sri Lankan life.
You’ll walk past the iconic Red Mosque, visit the Gangaramaya Buddhist Temple, and catch the peaceful vibe of Beira Lake. It's the perfect way to get your first feel for Sri Lankan culture. We’ll also explore the colorful streets of Colombo, including a visit to a local market where spices, fabrics, and street life fill the air with energy.
After our short walking tour, we’ll invite you for a traditional Sri Lankan lunch at a local restaurant. This is your first chance to blend into the local culture, taste authentic flavors, and start soaking in the atmosphere.
In the afternoon, we’ll begin our journey northward — a scenic drive to Anuradhapura (around 4 hours). You can nap, chat, or simply look out the window and take in the changing landscapes.
We’ll arrive at our comfortable hotel in the evening, where you can unwind, enjoy your first Sri Lankan dinner, and rest after the long journey.
Accommodation:Rajarata Hotel, Anuradhapura
Included meals: Dinner -
We’ll start the day early — but it’s worth it. Around 6:30 AM, you’ll climb the ancient stone steps of Mihintale, known as the sacred birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. From the top, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise and panoramic views over misty forests and rice fields.
After soaking in the peaceful energy of this holy site, we’ll return for breakfast at the hotel or a local café, depending on the group’s vibe.
Later in the morning, get ready for one of the most atmospheric ways to explore history: a guided cycling tour through the ancient city of Anuradhapura. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is full of gigantic stupas, ancient bathing ponds, and sacred fig trees — all woven into the everyday life of the local people. On two wheels, you'll feel the magic of this former royal capital even more deeply.
In the afternoon, we’ll drive east to Habarana, a peaceful jungle area that will be our base for the next few days of exploration.
Accommodation: Oak Ray Elephant Lake, Habarana
Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner -
We begin the day before the sun — but trust us, this one’s unforgettable. At 6:00 AM, you’ll hike to the top of Pidurangala Rock, the lesser-known neighbor of Sigiriya, offering 360° views of the jungle and a perfect sunrise behind the majestic Lion Rock itself. The climb is adventurous but short, and the reward is pure magic.
After descending, we’ll head to a traditional Sri Lankan village, where you’ll take part in a hands-on cooking demonstration. Learn how to prepare local dishes, then enjoy a homemade lunch in a quiet rural setting. To get there, we’ll cross a lake by catamaran, surrounded by water lilies and birdsong — it’s a true step back in time.
In the afternoon, it's time for one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights: the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as the Lion Rock. You’ll climb through ancient gardens, royal frescoes, and carved staircases until you reach the top — once the site of a royal palace. The views, the history, and the energy of this place are unlike anything else.
After this full day of adventure and culture, we’ll return to our jungle hotel to relax and reflect.
Accommodation: Oak Ray Elephant Lake, Habarana
Included meals: Breakfast, Village Lunch & Dinner -
After breakfast, we’ll head to one of Sri Lanka’s most sacred and visually striking landmarks — the Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Carved into a massive rock face, this ancient temple complex features five richly decorated caves, filled with Buddha statues and colorful ceiling paintings that date back over 2,000 years. It’s quiet, mystical, and deeply rooted in Sri Lanka’s spiritual traditions.
You’ll have time to wander, reflect, and admire the peaceful atmosphere before heading back for a bit of rest at the hotel or a relaxed local lunch (optional).
In the afternoon, it's time to go wild — quite literally. At around 2:30 PM, we’ll take off for a jeep safari in Minneriya National Park, one of the best places in Asia to see wild elephants in their natural habitat. If you’re lucky, you might witness “The Gathering”, a breathtaking scene where herds of elephants — sometimes over 100 — come to drink and play by the water.
As the sun sets over the jungle, we’ll return to Habarana full of memories (and hopefully amazing photos).
Accommodation: Oak Ray Elephant Lake, Habarana
Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner -
Today we say goodbye to the dry plains and head into the misty highlands. After breakfast, we begin a scenic journey to Nuwara Eliya, known as “Little England” for its colonial charm, cool climate, and lush tea plantations. The drive takes around 5.5 hours, but we’ll make meaningful stops along the way.
First, we’ll visit a traditional spice and herbal garden near Matale, where you’ll learn about the ancient healing properties of Sri Lankan herbs and Ayurvedic plants. You can touch, smell, and even taste nature’s pharmacy.
Next, we’ll stop at a colorful Hindu temple, where bright sculptures and incense fill the air with spiritual energy. It's a great chance to see a different side of Sri Lanka’s multicultural identity.
By late afternoon, we’ll reach the hills of Ramboda, surrounded by tea plantations and misty valleys. Before settling in, we’ll visit a working tea factory and plantation, where you’ll see firsthand how Ceylon tea is grown, picked, and processed — and of course, enjoy a tasting.
In the evening, you can simply unwind in the fresh mountain air, listen to the sound of nearby waterfalls, or enjoy a warm drink with a view of the green hills.
Accommodation: Oak Ray Tea Bush, Ramboda
Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner -
Wake up to the crisp mountain air and the sound of flowing water — it’s time to explore more of Sri Lanka’s lush highlands. After breakfast, we’ll visit the nearby Ramboda Waterfall, one of the most stunning in the region. Surrounded by tea fields and forest, this 100-meter cascade offers the perfect photo stop and a refreshing start to the day.
Afterward, we’ll drive to Nanu Oya railway station, where your next adventure begins: the scenic train journey to Ella. This ride is often called one of the most beautiful train rides in the world, passing through rolling hills, tea estates, forests, and misty mountain villages. Keep your camera ready — you’ll want to capture the open-door views, smiling locals, and waving children along the tracks.
The train ride takes around 2.5 hours, giving you time to truly unwind and take in the peaceful rhythm of the highlands.
We’ll arrive in Ella, a relaxed little mountain town, just in time to check in and enjoy the evening at leisure.
Accommodation: Oak Ray Ella Gap, Ella
Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner -
Today is all about breathtaking views and hidden natural wonders. After breakfast, we’ll head out for a gentle morning hike to Little Adam’s Peak, one of the most popular trails in Ella. The path winds through tea fields and hills, and once you reach the top, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views over the highlands and valleys — a truly peaceful and energizing start to the day.
Next, we’ll visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge, a colonial-era railway bridge surrounded by jungle. If we time it right, you’ll see the train pass by — a magical moment for photos.
Then we continue our journey south, stopping first at the Ravana Waterfall for a quick scenic break, and later at the spectacular Diyaluma Falls — Sri Lanka’s second tallest waterfall. If conditions allow, you can even take a dip in the natural rock pools at the top, with views stretching out over the valley below.
By late afternoon, we’ll reach the edges of the wild — Yala National Park, known for its rich biodiversity and leopard population. We’ll check into our safari lodge and relax before tomorrow’s early adventure.
Accommodation: Oak Ray Wild Yala
Included meals: Breakfast & Dinner -
Wake up before sunrise — today is your chance to connect with the wild. At 5:30 AM, we’ll head into Yala National Park for an unforgettable 6-hour jeep safari with a picnic breakfast in nature. Yala is home to leopards, elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, wild boar, and over 200 species of birds. With a bit of luck, you might spot one of the park’s famously elusive leopards — Yala has one of the highest leopard densities in the world.
After the safari, we’ll make our way to the coast, heading south toward Mirissa (approx. 4 hours). On the way, we’ll stop for a break at the stunning Hiriketiya Beach, a small crescent-shaped bay loved by surfers and sun-seekers.
By late afternoon, we’ll arrive at our beachfront hotel in Mirissa, where you can finally kick off your shoes, walk barefoot on the sand, and feel the ocean breeze. This is where the second half of your journey begins — slower, softer, and filled with salt air and sunsets.
Accommodation: Paradise Beach Club, Mirissa

After a week of temples, mountains, waterfalls, and safaris — today is all yours to simply breathe, slow down, and enjoy the coast.

As part of your journey, today also includes a traditional Ayurvedic massage, using herbal oils and ancient techniques to help your body recover and your mind fully relax.
In the evening, we recommend a short walk to Parrot Rock, a small rocky island just off the beach. From the top, you’ll have a magical view of the sunset over the bay — a peaceful way to end a perfect day.

Rise early and head to the harbor — today is about meeting the giants of the ocean. Around 6:30 AM, you’ll board a boat for a whale watching tour off the coast of Mirissa. With a bit of luck, you’ll spot blue whales, brydes whales, dolphins, and even sea turtles — all in their natural habitat. It’s a humbling, breathtaking experience that connects you with the vastness of the sea.
After returning to shore and freshening up, we’ll head out in the afternoon to discover Galle, one of Sri Lanka’s most charming and historic towns. You’ll visit the famous Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Dutch-colonial architecture, old lighthouses, and stone ramparts tell stories of centuries past. You’ll also have time to wander the cobblestone streets, browse local shops, or enjoy a fresh juice or gelato in one of Galle’s stylish cafés.
Along the way, we’ll stop at Jungle Beach for a quiet coastal moment and visit the Peace Pagoda, offering panoramic views of the bay.
We return to Mirissa in the evening for a relaxed dinner by the ocean.
Accommodation: Paradise Beach Club, Mirissa

This morning, we’ll go by TukTuk to one of the nearby turtle bays, where you’ll go snorkeling directly from the shore. The calm, clear waters make it easy to spot sea turtles peacefully feeding or swimming close to the coastline — a quiet and magical experience in their natural habitat. Floating just above them as they glide through the water is an unforgettable and peaceful experience, connecting you to the magic beneath the surface.
After returning to shore and refreshing, we’ll visit a local batik factory, where you’ll learn about one of Sri Lanka’s most traditional textile arts. Watch the process of hand-dyeing fabrics using wax and natural colors, and meet the artists who bring these vibrant designs to life. You’ll have the chance to browse or purchase authentic batik pieces directly from the makers.
In the afternoon, enjoy some free time — walk to Coconut Tree Hill, visit Parrot Rock, or simply unwind on the beach and take in the rhythm of the waves.
Accommodation: Paradise Beach Club, Mirissa

Today we dive deeper into the rhythm of southern Sri Lanka — starting with an off-the-beaten-path experience in nature.
In the morning, we’ll head to Matara for a river safari on the Nilwala River, where we’ll glide through mangrove forests and keep a safe distance as we observe crocodiles in their natural habitat. Along the way, you might also spot birds, monkeys, and other river life that make this ecosystem so unique.
After the river adventure, it’s time to ride some waves! We’ll take you to Weligama Beach, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to try surfing — especially for beginners. A fun and easygoing surf lesson with a local instructor will get you up on the board, laughing and learning in the warm Indian Ocean.
In the late afternoon, we’ll return to Mirissa. We’ll take a walk to a hidden sunset viewpoint, or you can choose your favorite spot on the beach to watch the sky turn to fire.

The walk continues with a short jungle trail, where the sounds of birds and rustling leaves surround you in a peaceful green world.
Later, we’ll head to one of Mirissa’s hidden gems — the Secret Beach. Tucked away in a quiet bay, it’s the perfect place to swim, relax, or enjoy one last coconut under the palm trees.
